Anime Eye Samples by Fuzzdufuz Anime Eye Samples by Fuzzdufuz
So, here I am, sitting there at my desk, and I'm wondering
How am I supposed to draw more MMO characters if I CAN'T draw their faces? Most importantly, their eyes.
I don't have a set style for eyes, so I decided to just have a poll of sorts.

Which style (not the eyes exactly, but the style) of eyes should I start using?
1. Very simple, basic, and easy to manipulate and will make the entire image match more
2. Very dark, a little bit more detailed, this would require the rest of the art to be very blunt
3. Kind of an odd style, it would take me a while to correctly incorporate this in to my art style
4. Very detailed, very animated, would take a LOT of time and would influence everything else.

Comment and tell me which you prefer! It would be a big help! Thank you~

I think one is the best - it resembles the clean, simple style of Durarara (a favourite art style of mine), and I'd definitely like to see it in more art. ^^

Your other eyes, while more detailed, don't really have any sense of shape or depth - they feel more like 2D flat images. While manga is definitely a highly stylised form, to really get a good result you need to keep in mind at least a little bit of 3D shapes. For example, take a look at your fourth eye - it resembles the style of Sailor Moon, but go take a look at Sailor Moon. You'll find the eyes curve a bit more. I know these are just examples for style choices, but it's good to keep these things in mind. ^^

These are all really good bases, and the colouring style inside the eyes are very nice - especially two. So keep up the good work, and I'll look forward to seeing more art from you ^^
